Job Posting: Asset Manager, Investment Real Estate

Location: Comox Valley, BC (On-Site Required)

We are seeking a skilled Asset Manager with 5–10 years of experience to join our team and oversee a diverse real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in lease negotiations, property operations, and strategic asset planning. You will play a key role in optimizing portfolio performance, enhancing tenant relationships, and supporting long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the performance of a mixed commercial real estate portfolio.
Lead the negotiation, structuring, and renewal of leases to maximize asset value.
Support acquisition financing and re-financing of portfolio assets.
Oversee day-to-day property operations, working closely with property management teams and service providers.
Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for assigned assets.
Identify opportunities for capital improvements, value-add projects, and operational efficiencies.
Maintain strong relationships with tenants, brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Support due diligence activities for acquisitions, dispositions, and major capital projects.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

5–10 years of asset management, property management, or real estate operations experience (commercial or mixed-use preferred).
Diploma in Urban Land Economics (DULE), Bachelor of Commerce, Economics or related post-secondary education.
Proven experience negotiating and structuring leases.
Strong understanding of property operations, building systems, and maintenance planning.
Solid financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements and build asset-level analyses.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-relationship skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with real estate or asset management software an asset.
Ability to work on-site in the Comox Valley, BC (this is an in-person role).

What You’ll Do

As a Client Service Administrator, you will:

Manage client account processes: Prepare and process account opening documentation, monitor transfers, and liaise with custodian partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Support Portfolio Managers: Assist with client-focused tasks, meeting preparation, and follow-up communications.
Collaborate with the admin team: Contribute to firm-wide processes, documentation, and special projects that enhance operational efficiency.
Maintain exceptional standards: Uphold compliance requirements and ensure all client interactions reflect professionalism and care.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, client-focused role and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have:

2–5 years of experience in investment management, securities, or financial services administration.
Canadian Securities Course (CSC) completed or willingness to complete within 18 months.
Knowledge of CIRO regulations and managed portfolio account documentation.
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat (including e-signature tools).
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Professional communication skills—both written and verbal—with a warm, client-friendly approach.
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn new skills.
